COLD IRONING – SUBMARINE BATTERY CHARGER

Ascot has designed and built an advanced shore power supply system (Cold Ironing), developed to ensure energy continuity, operational safety, and reduced emissions during docking or maintenance phases of naval and submarine units.

The solution is fully modular and containerized, comprising a control room, rectifiers, battery chargers, and high-power generators, all configurable according to customer requirements.

Designed for strategic applications in the naval and defense sectors, the system enables onboard battery charging in silent mode, supporting compliance with international environmental regulations and significantly reducing the use of onboard generators.

The Ascot solution provides stable power for charging naval or submarine batteries even in the absence of a grid, through two 625 kW generators. The system is fully managed by an advanced control room and includes rectifiers and conversion modules.
